Privacy Policy

Last updated October 23, 2026

WoaHoa is a video sharing site for creators, in a closed, invite-only beta. This policy explains what WoaHoa collects, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. "WoaHoa", "we" and "us" mean the site and the people running it.

1. What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, and your password, which is only ever stored as a secure one-way hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Your date of birth, which you give once. We use it only to work out your age: whether you can have an account (you must be 13 or over) and, if you're under 18, keeping some content away from you. It's the only age check WoaHoa does: we never ask for ID, a face scan or anything else. People on our team only see your age group (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 or over), not the date. You confirm it before it's saved, and you can't change it yourself after that: if it's wrong, contact us and we'll fix it. If you're refused because you're under 13, your browser remembers that for 15 days; nothing else about you is kept.
  • Your profiles: their names, handles, bios, links, pictures and backgrounds.
  • What you upload: your videos and everything about them, such as titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, your answers to the upload questions (disclosures), and any proof of permission you send.
  • What you do here: who you follow, what you like, dislike, save, comment on, add to playlists or report, and which videos are watched (to count views).
  • Complaints you send: what you write, the pictures and screen recordings you add (we remake them, without hidden details such as where they were taken), and, if you leave it ticked, the page you were on, your browser and your window's size. A person on our team reads each one and answers it as WoaHoa. A complaint about one of our Administrators is read only by WoaHoa's Owners, and that Administrator isn't told who sent it. A complaint you don't send is deleted a week after you last change it.
  • Suggestions you send: what it's for, its name, your idea and the pictures and screen recordings you add (remade the same way), sent as one of your profiles. It goes on the suggestions board as soon as you send it, and it's public there: anyone can see it with your profile's name and @handle, its pictures and recordings, and how many people liked and disliked it, and people signed in can share it in Messages and report it. Our team reads the ones people report, and takes off the board ones that break the rules. Pictures and recordings only show on the board once our automatic photo check has read them, and ones it flags never do. Whose likes and dislikes they are isn't shown to anyone, and who reported a suggestion is only shown to our team. You can delete a suggestion you sent, unless our team has marked it Planned or Done: it's deleted for good, with its likes, dislikes, pictures and recordings. A suggestion you don't send is deleted a week after you last change it.
  • Technical information: cookies that keep you signed in and remember your choices (such as the theater mode), and the IP addresses and basic details of requests that reach our servers, kept briefly in their logs for security.

2. Copying your videos from YouTube

WoaHoa can copy your own videos from YouTube, if you ask it to. Your Google Takeout files are read in your browser, and only the videos you choose and their details (titles, descriptions, tags, categories, privacy settings and upload dates) are sent to WoaHoa. Nothing else in your export, such as your watch history, is read or sent.

To confirm the channel is yours, you sign in to YouTube once with read-only access. WoaHoa reads your channel's name and ID and, for each of your videos, whether it's age-restricted and its "altered or synthetic content" label, then gives the access back to Google straight away. The labels are deleted once you've chosen what to copy, and in any case within 30 days.

If you choose your Takeout files from Google Drive, WoaHoa can only open the files you pick in Google's file picker. It keeps that access only until those videos have been copied (at most 30 days), then gives it back to Google.

This uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) applies to what Google does with your information. You can remove WoaHoa's access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

WoaHoa's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including its Limited Use requirements. We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and people only see it where that's needed to run the copy, for security, or to comply with the law.

3. How we use it

  • To run the site: your account, your profiles, and showing your videos and comments to the people you choose (public, by private link, or only you).
  • To process your videos: making the versions that play at different qualities, thumbnails and previews.
  • To check uploads: automated checks look for AI-generated content, copyrighted material, real illegal activity and adult (18+) material, and compare what they find with your answers. They run on our own computers, not on outside services. People on our team may review moments the checks flag, and any proof of permission you send.
  • To keep the site safe: preventing abuse, investigating reports, and enforcing our Terms of Service (https://woahoa.com/terms).
  • Only when one of your comments is reported for breaking our rules, or you appeal a decision about one: an automated check on our own computers reads your comment history and picks out the comments that are harmful or may be harmful (such as harassment, hate, threats, sexual harassment or spam), so the people on our team who review that report or appeal can see whether it's a one-off or a pattern. They only see the comments the check picked out, not the rest. Nobody else's comments are sorted this way. The check never decides anything itself: a person makes every decision. Its results are deleted 90 days after the last report or appeal about your comments.
  • To contact you about your account or the beta.

4. Who sees it

  • Other people see what you make public: your profiles, public videos, comments, and what you choose to share.
  • Our hosting: the site runs on a rented server in the United States, and some work (such as processing videos and the checks) runs on our own computers.
  • Google, when you choose to sign in with Google or copy from YouTube or Google Drive.
  • The authorities, when the law requires it. For example, we report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete a video, it and its files are deleted from our storage; our backups keep a copy for up to 14 days. Copied YouTube labels and Google access are kept for the short times described above.

6. Your choices

  • You can edit or delete your videos and profiles, and change who can see each video, at any time.
  • To get a copy of your information, or to have your account and everything in it deleted, email zero511dash55@gmail.com.
  • You can remove our access to your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

7. Children

WoaHoa isn't meant for children under 13, and they may not make an account. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 13, we close it without appeal and delete it and everything on it (its profiles, videos, comments, messages and the information we keep about it) from WoaHoa. It can't be recovered. If you believe a child under 13 has made an account, contact us at zero511dash55@gmail.com.

8. Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, store passwords only as secure hashes, encrypt the Google access we keep, and require three checks (a password, an authenticator code and a passkey) to enter our admin accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. When we make an important change, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect.
